Lorie Askins, L.P.C.
Lorie earned a Bachelor of Science in Education in Music Education from Asbury University. She later completed a Master of Arts in Community Counseling from Edinboro University. Lorie is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and a Nationally Certified Counselor. She has also received specialized training in EMDR and trauma-informed treatment approaches.
Lorie brings more than 16 years of counseling experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in both outpatient and residential treatment settings. Her clinical work has included individual counseling, family therapy, and group counseling focused on helping clients work through trauma, emotional challenges, and behavioral concerns.
She previously served for many years at a residential youth treatment program where she provided therapy for adolescents facing trauma, depression, anxiety, and behavioral concerns. During her time there, she also served as Clinical Director, supervising counselors and helping guide program development and treatment services.
Lorie works with children, adolescents, and adults and has extensive experience supporting individuals who have experienced trauma or emotional distress. Her counseling approach integrates trauma-focused therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and biblical values to provide compassionate, client-centered care.
