Scean Lawhorn, M.S.
Scean earned a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Duquesne University and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Duquesne University. His graduate training focused on evidence-based counseling approaches and the development of strong clinical skills in assessment, treatment planning, and case management.
Scean is a U.S. Army veteran who brings many years of leadership, mentoring, and service experience into his counseling work. Throughout his career he has been committed to helping individuals navigate difficult life circumstances and develop practical skills for growth and stability.
He has experience providing counseling services for individuals facing substance use and mental health challenges. In previous clinical work he facilitated group counseling sessions focused on recovery, relapse prevention, and emotional regulation while also providing individual counseling and collaborating with treatment teams to support client progress.
Scean works with adolescents, adults, and older adults and provides counseling for a variety of emotional and behavioral concerns. His counseling approach incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and person-centered counseling techniques to help clients build practical skills for lasting change.
