Psychological Assessments for Children, Adolescents, and Adults

Most people who seek a psychological assessment aren’t looking for a label; they’re looking for clarity. A well-conducted psychological assessment does not reduce a person to a score. It gives them, and the people who care for them, a more complete and accurate picture of what‘s going on.

CCA offers a range of psychological testing services for children, adolescents, and adults. Our licensed staff can assess your needs, make recommendations, and provide specific assessments and comprehensive reports. Because CCA approaches care from a whole-person perspective, our assessments attend to what purely secular psychological testing can sometimes miss: the fuller context of a person's life, values, and inner experience.

If you are wondering whether a psychological assessment might be helpful for you or someone you love, we would be glad to talk it through. Contact us to learn more or to request an appointment.

Cognitive Assessment Tests, ADHD Testing, and More

Our Psychological Assessment Services

CCA offers several categories of psychological testing, each designed to provide clear, clinically sound information that can inform treatment, support decision-making, or meet specific legal or institutional requirements.

Cognitive Assessment

Cognitive testing is appropriate for those seeking to measure overall brain health and functioning across the lifespan. A comprehensive cognitive assessment evaluates areas including short-term memory, reasoning, concentration, and verbal ability.

This type of testing measures key areas of brain functioning for those struggling with:

  • Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • Depressive disorder
  • Early-stage Alzheimer's or dementia
  • Age-related cognitive decline

Mental Health and Psychological Evaluation

Mental health evaluations are available for a range of purposes, including court-ordered assessments, school-based referrals involving child behavioral concerns, and general psychological evaluations for short-term disability or leave from work. These evaluations include the MMPI, a widely used instrument for measuring personality and psychological functioning to a high degree of objectivity, along with in-depth observation and a comprehensive psychological report.

Frequently Asked Questions

A counseling session is an ongoing, conversational process focused on working through emotional and relational concerns over time. A psychological assessment is a structured, time-limited evaluation that uses standardized instruments to measure specific areas of functioning and produce a formal report. The two can complement each other well. In some cases, an assessment is a helpful starting point that informs the direction of counseling.

In many cases, yes. CCA provides formal psychological reports that can be used to support court orders, short-term disability claims, and other documentation needs. The specific requirements vary depending on the purpose of the evaluation. If you have questions about whether a CCA assessment will meet the requirements of your situation, reach out before scheduling and we will be glad to clarify.

Insurance coverage for psychological testing varies by evaluation type, location, and individual plan. For some assessments, such as ADHD testing and office visits for gun rights evaluations, insurance may be applicable where it is accepted. Other components, such as formal exam fees and letter fees, are typically billed separately. Contact us directly and we can help you understand what your plan may cover.

The length of an assessment depends on the type of evaluation being conducted. Some evaluations are completed in a single session, while others, such as court-ordered psychological evaluations, require at least two meetings, one of which must be in person. We will walk you through what to expect before your first appointment so there are no surprises.
