Drug and Alcohol Counseling
Addiction carries a weight of shame that can make reaching out feel impossible, but you are welcome here as you are. CCA counselors are trained to walk alongside people in recovery with clinical skill, compassion, and a faith that does not flinch at hard things.
Recovery Is Possible With the Right Support
Substance use disorders are clinical conditions with neurological and psychological dimensions. They are also, for many people, deeply spiritual struggles. The shame that accompanies addiction can make it feel like something that disqualifies a person from community, from faith, and from care. It does not. CCA's approach to drug and alcohol counseling begins with the conviction that a person's addiction does not define them, and that recovery is possible with the right support.
Every CCA counselor is capable of working with substance use concerns. However, for clients in Western Pennsylvania who need a higher level of specialized care, our drug and alcohol rehabilitation program, known as DACCA, provides specialized rehabilitation and addiction counseling with credentialed counselors.
Wherever you are in this, we would be glad to come alongside you. Contact us to request an appointment.

Understanding Substance Use and the Path Toward Recovery
Substance addiction is one of the most well-researched areas in mental health. Addiction involves changes in brain structure and function, particularly in areas governing reward, impulse control, and stress response. This is an important part of understanding why willpower alone is rarely sufficient, and why structured, professional support makes a meaningful difference.
Substance use disorders exist on a spectrum. Some people struggle with occasional misuse that is beginning to create consequences. Others are managing a long-term dependency that has affected every area of their life. CCA's counselors are equipped to work with people across that spectrum, and the treatment approach is tailored to where each person actually is.
Recovery is not simply the absence of substance use. It is the gradual rebuilding of a life oriented around what matters most. That includes relationships, work, community, and faith. The spiritual dimension of recovery is not a detour from clinical care; it is part of it. Many clients find that their faith provides a framework for understanding their struggle, a source of accountability and support, and a reason to keep going when the work is hard.
Family involvement is also an important part of the recovery process for many clients. Addiction affects everyone close to the person who is struggling, and CCA counselors can work with families navigating the relational complexity that substance use creates. Whether you are seeking care for yourself or trying to support someone you love, CCA is a place where that conversation can happen honestly and without judgment.
DACCA: Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Services
DACCA is CCA's specialized addiction counseling program, operating within select Western Pennsylvania locations. While all CCA counselors are able to work with substance use concerns, DACCA counselors hold specific credentials in rehabilitation and addiction counseling and provide specialized care for clients whose needs call for it.
DACCA's approach is grounded in the same whole-person, faith-integrated framework that defines CCA's broader practice. The goal is not simply to address substance use in isolation, but to understand the fuller context of a person's life and to build a recovery process that is sustainable over time. DACCA clients benefit from working with counselors who have dedicated their clinical training specifically to addiction treatment, within a community that takes their faith seriously.
